I've just installed Squid/Squidguard onto an Ubunto 6.06 desktop. The install, including the Berkeley 2.7.7 db went fine, no errors. Yet I have no /etc/local/squidGuard folder, therefore no config file etc. Any ideas what I'm missing?!?!
Thanks in advance for any input! :)
have you looked anywhere else besides there? usually the squidguard.conf is in the same folder as your squid.conf.
do a search for both files, you may have to do an updatedb first
Actually, once I used Synaptics to install via a universal repository, it worked fine. You are correct that the squidGuard.conf file was with the squid.conf. I saw many references to it being in its own folder under /usr/local/squidguard. Hence why I thought there was a problem. Though on initial install (command line install), the .conf file was non existant anywhere.
Thanks for the reply.:-D
