Upgrading PostgreSQL 7.3.2 to 7.4.6 for Redhat 9.0
Newbie here. I have just installed Redhat 9.0 and I am wondering what is the best way to upgrade PostgreSQL 7.3.2 to 7.4.6? I did follow the instruction provided by PostgreSQL but I encounter difficulty in having the Postmaster to run. Meanwhile I am reading up the RPM How to and figuring if is there a rpm package for the PostgreSQL installation?
The reason why I am asking for the best upgrading method simply because PostgreSQL 7.3.2 is packaged into Redhat 9.0 and most of the PostgreSQL related files are over a few directories. Whereas in the original PostgreSQL documentation, installation takes place basically under /usr/local/pgsql. Really confused
