windows xp cannot connect domain samba server redhat 8

hello every body
can you help me with this problem
I'am try to connect the windows XP machine to samba domain in rh8,when I giving the username and password it is displaying the following message
"The following error occured attempting to join the domain "networking" Access is denied. Why? Thx u:)
This is my smb.conf file

hosts allow = 192.168.1.4

encrypt passwords = yes

Im pretty much in the same position! I can access my XP and ME systems from Ubuntu. They each can see the Ubuntu box but cannot log on.

I'm assuming it has to be somewhere in permissions/passwords, but I haven't figured out where to set them :(
