Huge letters in apps under fvwm2

Hi,

I've just installed Slack 12.2.0 onto a Compaq 7300nx laptop (kernel 2.6.27.7-smp from the CD , X.Org 1.4.2, fvwm2 2.4.20). X resolution 1280x800.

If I run an application (Firefox, Seamonkey, Gimp, Skype) the app starts a in a (very) bigger window than the desktop and with HUGE LETTERS, so large that e.g. the word 'Bookmarks' is as wide as the physical screen.

Tried to google but haven't found relevant pages.

Thx in advance for any tips, explanations or (the best case) solutions,
KEA.

Some more details:

Using the vesa driver font sizes are O.K. The problem occors with the intel driver, in the latter case Xorg.0.log contains a warning, which says "intel: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:0:2:1) found".

Section "device"
Identifier "Intel Mobile 945GM"
Driver "i810"
BusID "PCI:0:2:0"
EndSection

lspci says:

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS...

So it seems that it is a driver-specific problem.

Üdvrivalgással:
