MySQL on Slackware

I am having a problem starting Mysql. I don't get any errors but it doesn't run. A Google shows that I should do the following

Code:
su -
mysql_install_db
There is more but the mysql_install_db results in a command not found.

Where can I get this script?

Sorted.

I had to re-install the MySQL Package.

I have marked this thread as unsolved so that I can reveal what my investigation has shown actually happened. This has been done in case Slackware gets the blame for my own idiocy.

Executive Summary: Configuring a PC when drunk is never a good idea.

I decided to install the MySQL GUI Tools but couldn't find a package for Slackware 13. Having had a couple (or maybe more ) drinks I decided to install the package for Slackware 12.

This didn't go well! It installed but when attempting to run it there were many and varied error messages. I decided to see if I could get the source and build the tools myself. But, when I attempted to uninstall the GUI, I uninstalled MySQL instead

lol . Be glad you are not using something like gparted and format the entire HDD

Have you tried phpMyadmin it's very good UI for mysql?

So moral of the story, don't drink and drive or un/install
