Hello.

I just compiled the 2.6.10 kernel following:

when i do "make install"

i get this error:

Added linux*
Fatal : open /boot/vmlinuz.old: No such file or directory.
make[1]: *** [Install] error 1
make: *** [install] error 2

I added the lines to lilo as shown in the above link.

??????

Slack 10.0 Does this now mean when i power off lilo is only going to show the option to boot into my new (and probbably unstable) kernel??

okay, well rename your old kernel image (/boot/vmlinuz probably) to /boot/vmlinuz.old and try again.

I had

image = /boot/vmlinuz.old

not

image = /vmlinuz.old

as it says in the guide.
