Linksys WRT54G Wireless Adapter

Im fairly new to Linux and a buddy of mine referred me to Slackware.
I upgraded to the new kernel, but to no avail did it see my card.
So i used ndiswrapper for my wlan0 connection.

My wireless.conf reads:

00:12:17:90:B9:95
INFO="Linksys Wireless Adapter"
ESSID="linksys"
CHANNEL="6"
KEY="1234-5678-AB"
;;

My inet1 reads:

DEBUG_ETH_UP="yes"

IFNAME[4]="wlan0"
IPADDR[4]="192.168.1.101"
NETMASK[4]="255.255.255.0"
USE_DHCP[4]=""
DHCP_HOSTNAME[4]=""
GATEWAY[4]="192.168.1.1"
CHANNEL[4]="6"

But when i do iwconfig wlan0, there is no activity.

Any help would be awesome thanks

You can search for the wireless.conf file by opening a terminal as 'root' and typing "whereis wireless.conf" press enter it should tell you where it is but that is one way of doing it.
