Thanks for the help so far guys. I tried three different dvd's and they all do the same thing and freeze. Slackware 12 just wont install. So I've decided to install Slackware 11. It installs just fine I think. But I've hit another wall. At the end when you ctrl+alt+dlt, It brings me back to the black boot menu as if i wanted to install again, but If i dont have the install disc in I cant boot into sata.i /dev/hda. Does slackware require a boot cd? Basically it wont start at all if the disc is not in. Shouldn't it just load and ask for a UN and PW after install is complete? Any ideas?

Lilo
Have you installed LILO ̣(Linux Loader)? You must have it to enter your installed Linux operating system, the installation should ask you to install it. If you use only one operating system, you can install it either on MBR or on the root partition.

There are other linux loaders such as grub and loadlin and possibly others.
You can download the latest LILO for Slackware at
Package info and download slackware-current/lilo-22.8-i486-4
For another program, you can search by Google with it name. However, I recommend LILO.
Good luck.
