there is a precompiled package of monodevelop ,i don't know how to program in this but the tgz package exist in the Slacky :: Italian Slackware Community - Home the site is in Italian ,download the gslacky2.18.3 and in the iso file the monodevelop exist, gslacky is a gnome build for slackware 12.0
I'm not sure about the dependencies but if you use slap-get it can resolve them.
Hope this helps .Linux is not only an operating system, it's a philosophy.
Archost.
