    system doesn't detect lan card


    hi
    i had installed slackware 12
    but problem is this
    slackware doesn't detect my lan card
    it shows in the list but
    when i ifconfig it
    everything goes well
    but
    when i route
    it
    nothing happens
    help

    What lan card do you have?

    What module are you trying to use with it?

    What list is it showing up in?

    so when you do ifconfig you see something like this :

    companies uses chinese devices

    may be of Dlink or any other link
    it sucks man

    Network interface cards are cheap as dirt. You can get a good D-link, Linksys or Netgear for around ten dollars new and just about all of them, (save for the Chinese counterfeits) will work with Linux. But you DID see on there where he finally got it working right?

    that lan card is detected when i was booting through a live Ubuntu CD
    what you say
    should i install Ubuntu
    {{i mean i am in the learning face of Linux}}
    thats why i am asking
    my system ram is 128mb
    intel chipset 845
    P 4 --- 1.8ghz
    will this Ubuntu will work fine
