slackware setup is not detecting DVD rom

Hey guys,

Just wanted to tell you that i have upgraded my system.

Its
Intel DG965RY motherboard
Core 2 Duo 2.2ghz
2gb ram
250HDD sata
"also a D link ethernet card"(as i had a problem in past with some fake silan ethernet adapter not detected by the system anyway)

now the problem is that
my setup is not detecting the dvd rom
of my system
i try to copy paste all cd content to one of the hard disk
but not able to do it
please help!!!!!!!!

hello , sorry my bad english , i think you need to add your dvd drive to /etc/fstab

Alright let me explain this more clearly

i had just upgraded my pc
its now
Intel DG965RY
Core 2 Duo 2.2ghz
2Gb DDR2 ram
250gb HDD

D link Ethernet card
Sony DVD writer
Lg Cd writer

its runing fine on crystal Xp
now the problem is this
when i try to install Slackware 12
when it comes to chose source to installation
the system does not detect the DVD writer
if i accept install from a HDD
( i copy pasted all the folders of slackware 12 DVD to 1 of my 10gb HDD)
the system detects it
but
after the software to install window
it shuts down
by giving the message installation check complete please reboot
when i reboot all starts again
help needed
