I always use http when I can because my machine connects to the server quicker, but the files themselves should be the same and the actual downloads about the same speed.

thanks, the sad thing is i can figure out how to install this without help, but i cant figure out what i have to download. or do i ahve to download everything under slackware 12?

I think there are six ISO files that make up the entire set, but you will probably only need the first two ISO files to install, and maybe only the first one if you intend to go with a very lean system.
The files you need to download look something like this:
You might also want to download the .md5 file for each ISO file if you want to check the integrity of the downloads.Code:slackware-12.0-install-d1.iso slackware-12.0-install-d2.iso
