totally new to slackwareproblem with downloading openoffice
Hi,
Im new to slackware. I have just downloaded the slackware 12.0 and im trying to organize it. I was trying to download OpenOffice, but I always get the message Faild, "because the associate helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences."
I have no idea how to to go about it. Can someone help?

Welcome to the forums, piotr!
You should get your OpenOffice package from here, unless it's included on the Slackware CDs. The above package has been pre-configured for Slackware and should install easily by using pkgtool, or installpkg from the command line. Don't forget to su to root to install software under Slackware.
