That's too much to explain easily. Basically Vector is based on Slackware but they have made it their own. From rewritten config files and init scripts to pre-installed codexes, OOo, unique GUI tools and heck .. a new kernel.
And it's fast, but running Slack you might have been used to that

All this talk about Vector... I think I'm going to have to have a look at it.

fast?! i thought it was slow personally. then i tried to reinstall slack over it, and somehow the two were combined or somehting, like vctor doesnt have lisa, it uses something else, and when i reinstalled slack it had both, the boot up screen had the penguin from vector til i logged in (new root apssword not the old one) it didnt give me the common commands, it was weird! im just reformatting and installiung slack this time.
