    Enable Sound


    Hi all,

    I have build a package with some needed vmware kernel module with minimal packages. I am using slackware12.1 on vmware, here how can i check whether the sound is working or not? I dont have GUI mode also, have to install extra packages?

    Please help me.

    Sound in Slack is off by default. Run (as root): alsaconfig

    That should give a good indication whether your card is detected or not. You can adjust volume with your favorite GUI mixer or with alsamixer from the command line.
    Can't tell an OS by it's GUI
