Installing Kernels
Hey everbody!
I was just wondering if I could install a kernel from a cd of a different distro of linux such as Mandrake or Knoppix.
Also, does anybody have any good "How To" links for installing and compiling kernels?
Thanks for the help!

The only reason I ask is because I only have dialup bandwith and it takes forever to download big files such as kernels. If anyone can offer instructions on how to do this that would be great too.

For a good tutorial for slack see here : http://shilo.is-a-geek.com/slack
you don't have to download a kernel. In your slackware linux cd's you will find a source kernel and if you have slackware 10 in the second cd you will find the source kernel 2.6.7
