Using sftp to transfer files
Hello,
I am trying to transfer some files from a server to my computer.
I am Slackware 10.2 and KDE.
I am trying to connect via sftp. When I try, I get the following message:
Request for subsystem 'sftp' failed on channel 0
Couldn't read packet: Connection reset by peer
I have tried to do this with gftp, but it doesn't work either. Do you know what the problem could be? Thank you.

Ah, SlackWare networking problems, how bizarre! I know how you feel, believe me, but you will have to post more info to get a meaningful answer to the question. Like, do you have any problems connecting through http, telnet or any other protocols? Is this "server" a network or internet server? If you can "see" the server through KDE then it could be any number of things. Someone with more net knowledge will likely come along and ask similar things, so the more you can provide, the better your chances of a resolution!
