Hi. From what I have read (which is not very much), slamd64 is an unofficial port of slackware to the 64 bit processor, working for both amd and intel architectures. There is no official port, and I do not know if there will be. But consider the fact that the official slackware is still built for an i486 (most packages), and we have had better processors for years. Pat doesn't seem to think keeping up with new processors is very important...

slackware64-13.0 is the first official 64bit version of slackware, although if you want 32bit support in it you have to add it yourself. (there are howto's to help and you need slackware-13.0 (32bit version) for some of the executables).
