[ASK] how to operate the program in slackware

excuse me. i want to ask a question about the program in slackware.

first, i just have installed avg_antivirus in slackware. but i'm confuse how to use it . so, can you tell me how to use that (avg_antivirus) ?

Found this site where they explain how to use it in Ubuntu. Maybe it is of some help for you.

If you installed the tar.gz file, go into startx and then click the first icon on the bottom left and click Run. Type terminal and hit enter. Do a ls and look for something like avg85flx-r812-a3371.i386 . cd to that directory (i.e. cd avg85flx-r812-a3371.i386), then type ls and look at what you get. Type ./ followed by the file name to run it If you get that far, it's simple to make this executable into an icon on kde by right clicking and typing the file name into the "Application" tab. Then, you only have to click the icon to run it in the future. Good luck.
