I'm going to be offline for about an hour. Keep trying and I'll be back to check up on how things are going....

Can you give me the output of
    Code:
    pwd
from where you are trying to do ./b43-firmware.SlackBuild?

Also give the exact command you typed and the output of
    Code:
    ls -l
    (lower case L, not a 1 there.)

I'm having a hard time figuring out what exactly you're doing. Can you post the exact commands and the exact output, as it shows in the terminal?

If pwd shows /home/username/slackbuilds/b43-firmware and ls shows among the files b43-firmware.SlackBuild, then do
    Code:
    chmod +x b43-firmware.SlackBuild
    ./b43-firmware.SlackBuild
