NVidia Drivers and Kernel Upgrade(2.4.nn-2.6.9)
Hi
Just installed Slack 10 to replace Fedora 2, and i'm having problems with X, It wont start, i'm guessing coz I dont have the drivers for my FX5200 installed correctly,
I've run the script as suggested on the Nvidia site but get a SIGSEGV?? near the end, X still wont run, any ideas I can try ?
also I was looking to upgrade to 2.6.9 where can I get the code for this ?
Cheers
Tony

If you just want to get X started, you can use the driver "nv"
To do so you have to edit your /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Post the commands and errors you got running the script. It sounds like maybe you downloaded the wrong script.
As for how to update a kernel, check out this thread: http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/top...tml&highlight=--monkey
