    Incorrect RAM size

    helou, the question is why i have same problem on ubuntu lucid lynx and 512 ram?, bios stats 512MB, ubuntu stats 433MB. I have gpu with not dedicated 64mb video memory - aspire 2012wmli. When i boot inside recovery mode, then startx i have 497MB.
    Why?
    Thanks for your ideas, as i cant find it on the web...

    Ubuntu states the RAM not in use at that point in time.

    i found it was dedicated all the time to kexec and kdump. Turned off in grub 2.
