ATI Mobility Radeon HD2400 driver problem

Hi, I am having a problem with Ati driver for Mobility Radeon HD2400 on Slackware 13.1. Driver installs correcly, and when I restart X the mess begins. Parts of screen turn black, parts white, window components are invisible, until I pass with cursor over them. My friend had similar proble, and he just disabled Desktop effects, and everything was fine, but that didn't help me (he has a different Ati graphic card). I was looking for solution for few days, and was unable to find anything that worked. I am new to Linux, and any help would be great!

Are you using an xorg.conf file? If so post it.

Post the contents of the file /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Which driver are you using? The radeonhd, radeon, or ATI's proprietary driver?
