Depends on the hardware. I had a PCI SATA card that worked just fine, but my motherboard controller doesn't seem to work. I'm still hunting down drivers for my mobo controller.

I have read somewhere that u can enable in bios a SATA to PATA emulation in BIOS, so i am wondering is this likely to work?

The problem is that i can't try this just yet, my new 'mashine' is due to arrive, well maybe today. Please GOD, I've been wating for a month now.....

And ofcourse I would like to install slackware10, and to gather as much info as I can about installing it on SATA HDs
