Latop w/ Slackware
A few weeks ago I posted a question about how Slackware 10 would work on a laptop. I can now give you the exact spec (which should help!):
AMD64 Mobile Athlon 3400+;
1 Gb DDR RAM
WXGA monitor capable of 1280x800
ATi Radeon Mobility 9600/9700 Series
80 Gb HDD(Fujitsu)
Built in wireless(802.11b) and infrared
Built in 56k modem(Smartlink)
DVD RW
USB 2.0 and Firewire
Card reader
Touchpad
Should work, or am I wrong?

Only thing I am a bit concerned about is the card reader (smart card reader, correct?) and the modem. If it is a winmodem, it might be a bit hard to get it to work.
Otherwise, it looks good.

I think it would work well with that config...my slack10 laptop is as follows:
PII 333
128mb pc100 ram
10Gb Dell
Xircom dual ethernet/modem card
1 usb port
external ide cdrom/floppy
touchpad...
After some playing around it really flies...just have to figure out how to configure the sound
