LAN problems, linux to windows to internet
It has been awhile for me and I am now setting up my new Slackware-13.1 box.
Problem: Can't get my linux box to connect to the internet via dialup on my windows
box..
Here is my set up:
Internet - WindowsXP - Router - Linux
As modems are mostly winmodems now, and HSF and HCF modems won't work with the new 2.6. kernels, I have to connect to the internet via dialup on my windows machine.
Windows machine #1 IP = 192.168.1.20 Static address - dialup machine
Windows machine #2 IP = 192.168.1.30 static address
Linux machine IP = 192.168.1.10 static address - my new born, 1 week old.
Router = Linksys IP = 192.168.1.1 my gateway
No other settings. that I can think of right now.
I can bring up the connection to the internet from both windows machines.
I have Samba working, vsftpd working. on my linux machine and can access each other fine, just can't seem to get on the internet from the linux machine.
I am guessing someone has had this problem before and am sure the answer is here. I haven't been around much sense 04-07-2008.
Anyway, would someone point me to the right place? I can see I need to come here more often and do some reading.
