Problem with sound mixer
Hey all,
I am trying to unmute my speakers, at boot up it tells me to use a mixer to do this since there is no file in /etc/asound.state. Everytime I try running a mixer though, such as alsamixer or aumixer, my comp totally locks up. It locks up in different stages of the process of unmuting all of the levels each time I try this. Does anyone know what I could do about this...the Slax livecd works with my sound fine, just have a problem with slackware 10 locking up while trying to unmute alsa.
Thanks for your time,
John

Woohoo, I figured it out, or well I kinda rigged it...

But if anyone has similar issues just copy the config files from a boot of slax live cd, since its based on slackware, the configs match...
Now I finally have sound...everything works...man it can be hard getting an old comp running
