when i want to get back to console after use "startx" command, my monitor suddenly off and would not turn on ...

monitor turn off after exit x window
hi everyone,
i currently use Slackware 13.1 64 bit.
when i want to get back to console after use "startx" command, my monitor suddenly off and would not turn on until i restart my computer.
so i could never get back to console when i've started x window.
hope someone can help me...
just for info, i use ATI HIS HD 5670.
