connect a windows 2000 workstation to a samba share

Hi I installed debian linux and everything is working.

On my windows xp machine I can connect to my shares but on my windows 2000 workstation I cannot.

I am trying to connect using the same username and password but that won't work.

My w2000 workstation is on the same domain as my linux server, my wxp pro is on another workgroup.

Can it have something to do with shadow passwords and md5 encryption?

i also did nmblookups for both workstations

I don't think that there is a problem with the password encryption because I have win 2k and 98 as well as XP boxes an my network and they all see each other fine with my RH 9.8 network.

What happens when you try and access a share from the win2k box? Can you see the share or can you not even see the box at all? Sometimes Networking can get stale on a win2k box try rebooting the whole network and starting fresh.
