    Installing that should prevent nouveau from loading. You will need to reboot after installing (nouveau uses KMS).

    (of course you can just blacklist it yourself if you wish)

    If xorg.conf doesn't exist then you need at least something minimal like this

    I just reinstalled slack. Okay so how do i go about installing nvidia again. the right way... lol

    I got Nvidia installed properly now by downloading the newest from the nvidia website and then running in int3 and installing it that way and let nvidia do all the config for me
