    NTP Configuration on SLACKWARE

    Hello All,

I am new to this thing called NTP. I have been given the list of NTP servers and i am supposed to do the configuration on SLACKWARE 13.37, i opened the existing ntpd.conf, i see terms like straturm , drift file. Is it possible for somebody to throw some light on this and share the steps to configure the NTP on SLACKWARE 13.37
    Thanks a lot in advance

i don't know what would be slackware-specific about it, but start by putting your NTP server ip addresses on a line starting with "server" in your ntp.conf file, e.g.:
    Code:
    server 1.2.3.4
    server 1.2.3.5
see here for more details on configuration.

when you want to test (say with the ntpdate command), be sure that the ntp daemon is not running - they will conflict.
