gDesklets on 10.0

I have my good slackware 10.0.0, with a 2.6.9 linux, working well, but when I tryed
gDesklets, it just dont connect to daemon, can someone help me?

Try

gdesklets start

and hopefully it'll bring up the gui control panel.

I tryed it, but I got the same error message :

Starting gdesklets-daemon...
Connecting to daemon [ ### ]Bonobo accessibility support initialized
GTK Accessibility Module initialized
Connecting to daemon [ ### ]application finalize called
Cannot establish connection to daemon: timeout!

Can it be my fault?

I had the same problem. Solution:
"ln -s /usr/bin/python /usr/local/bin/python"
Now I've stucked with broken pipe while executing "gdesklets shell".
