    At loss over Wifi

    [SOLVED!]

    Alright, so I got this Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG card
    and am trying to get it to connect to my router (WPA2 AES)

    but all I get is:

    Error for wireless request "Set nickname" (8B1C):
    SET failed on device wlan0 ; Operation not supported.
    Successfully initialized wpa_supplicant

    and then it times out.

    It's weird because I do find all the networks around me with
    Code:
    iwlist wlan0 scan
    Anyway, here's the relevant part of my rc.inet1.conf

    Code:
    IFNAME[4]="wlan0"
    IPADDR[4]=" "
    NETMASK[4]=" "
    USE_DHCP[4]="yes"
    DHCP_HOSTNAME[4]="MYESSID"
    WLAN_WPA[4]="wpa_supplicant"
    WLAN_WPADRIVER[4]="wext"
    NOTE: I tried putting ESSID in WLAN_ESSID and leaving DHCP_HOSTNAME as a blank string, but with no success
    and my complete /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf

    Code:
    ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa/supplicant
    ctrl_interface_group=root

    network={
    ssid="MYESSID"
    proto=WPA2
    psk=myhexadecimalpass
    }

    I saw a lot more lines in other wpa_supplicant.confs, but mine only came with the first two, so that might have something to do with this.

    rfkill list also tells me that im not locking my wifi card on my laptop.

    Help?

    [/SOLVED!]

    Can't mark it as sovled now for some reason :s

    Well, after tweaking around a bit in both wpa_supplement.conf and rc.inet1.conf, it suddenly 'just worked'.
