environment variable to point to your JDK installation directory,
or use the --jdkhome switch

I have downloaded and installed this (the all in one bundle)

http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/download.html

First question: is there a reason you're trying to run netbeans as the root user? Unless you absolutely *must*, I never recommend running any applications as root.

Secondly, whenever I get a NoClassDefFoundError it usually means my PATH is not set up correctly.

Yay!!!

Works not at root, thanks!!!

I dont normally run things ar root. I do have a bad habit of not going backi user after doing something that needed root privlidges tho....

When running i get this::

Code:
jammin@Jupiter:/usr/share/netbeans/bin$ ./runide.sh --jdkhome /opt/SUNWappserver/jdk/
Warning: Cannot convert string "-b&h-lucida-medium-r-normal-sans-*-140-*-*-p-*-iso8859-1" to type FontStruct
Everything works fine tho, is this just a problem with a font?

Thanks much.

Probably. I get that sometimes with certain window managers.
