Maybe the bios battery is going bad or maybe accidentally you put the wrong year in when you set it up.

I've istalled it this morning and I cand install vmware workstation.

I find it to be really stable. It is faster than XP and/or any other distro I have tried before. It is a little harder to get configured but once it is going and everything is working nothing is needed again till upgrade time. Nothing wierd has happend in the year I have run it.
