    I'm not 100% sure,
    but I think that the error message
    Fatal: Setup length exceeds 31 maximum;
    actually states that there is one or more lines in your lilo.conf file that has more chars than 31.
    Just a thought though

    Tryed to put long rows in 2 diffrent rows.

    Didn't help (yes "new" rows was still commented so they wont effect the config options)

    Shot in the dark, but...do you think he needs to define an initrd for his Gentoo section?

    usualy you do have to suggest the initrd with gentoo, but I see no initrd in Scourge is gentoo /boot

    He could make one, couldn't he?

    Code:
    cp /gentoo-root/usr/src/linux-<version>/System.map /boot/System.map-<version>
    mkinitrd -o /gentoo-root/boot/initrd-2.6.10 /gentoo-root/lib/modules/2.6.10
    Or does it have to be done from within his Gentoo install?

    try a stanza like this:
    Code:
    # Gentoo

    image = /boot/vmlinux
    root = /dev/hdc3
    label = Gentoo
    initrd=/boot/initrd-2.4.26-gentoo-r9
    replacing the numbers after initrd with whatever's on your system.

    hehe welll dylinio you are partialy correct... normaly in gentoo if we manualy name out kernel then we choose something half inteligent to call it. if we just cp it over it is bzImage. however if we let the kernel install and name itself then it will be vlminuz-2.6.x-gentoo-rx
