Direct Rendering
I've been trying to get 3d accelleration working with my Radeon Mobility 9000. I've got slackware 10.1 and just compiled kernel 2.6.11 making sure to include the radeon driver and support for DRI.
I believe I need to use fglrx driver from ATI which I tried by converting an RPM to tgz and switching to /lib/modules/build_mod and running ./make.sh. Make failed with two errors. So I was wondering if there is a Slackware specific manner in which to do this. Or at least can someone point me to a link to the right drivers?
Thanks in advance.

Just an update. I found a slackware package for the drivers I needed. But still the same problems occur when the install script automagically runs ./make.sh for me. I can paste my make.log file if that will be of any help.

Try to change the driver that starts your X system in /etc/X11/XF86Config
