I have noticed that many people have had trouble with this driver,

well so have I

I have compiled 2.4x to the latest 2.6x kernel, attemptin to have my SATA drive detected via the sata_via driver (libata).
My specs are
AMD 2800+
ABIT KV7 (VT8327 South Bridge)

1GB RAM

WD 200JD SATA HD

I have linux installed on the IDE bus (40GB) HD, but cant get the driver to detect the SATA bus / HD
