hello i do i come on synaptic

i have installed APT on slackware.

then i make slapt-get --update
when i make now

slapt-get --install synaptic
nothing download or installed.
no such packages : synaptic

hmm how does i come now on synaptic can someone tell me

It's because the synaptic package doesn't exist on the repositories you mentioned.

There is a similar graphical programme for slapt-get called slapt-gui

only i get the messages

file:/etc/slapt-getrc can not be opened

and also i have not permission to make settings in ok
????

You should be running slapt-gui as root and there should not be any problems with permissions.

If you still can't get it to run as root do

chmod 777 /etc/slapt-getrc
