    Sound problem with intel8x0 sound card

    Hello everybody.
    I use slackware 10.1 with 2.6.11.5 kernel with Modules for ALSA and OSS.
    My sound card is intel8x0.
    My sound stop sometimes.Why?I try with ALSA and OSS output plugin in XMMS,but the problem remain.(I use XMMS or mp3blaster or mpg123).
    My Sound works,but it's interrupting.I runned 'alsaconf' and 'alsamixer' it's O.K.
    But sound stops sometimes when CPU or HDD is in high usage...

    I have the same issue. It also causes videos to stop working. Ever figure it out?

    The intel sound cards works always with Linux even the new version of these cards work (i always like to buy a intel sound card because they work great in Linux ),in other hand the 2.6.11.5 is quite old kernel , do you have the same issue with newer version of the kernel ?

    yea, same issue since i got this new board over a year ago. I upgrade the kernel everytime there is a new release hoping that will fix the issue. It never does.

    Don't hesitate , report the problem to the kernel developer as i did for the sony-laptop module.
