The kernel:
kernel.org
To install, and manage packages:
pkg-tool
And also:
installpkg, removepkg
Slackware uses the .tgz, and to install is just installpkg, or,
But use the pkg-tool, anyway, swaret makes it all easyCode:tar xzvf package.tgz -C /
Just like apt

There is a 2.6.10 kernel on the 2nd Slackware install CD under /testing, just follow the README to upgrade it. Or you can build your own kernel from kernel.org.
