Ok, I got it by reinstalling it about 20 times without pause in between. One of them hit it. I wanted to have a pretty splash image
Oddly, I dont think the version in slackware works with splash images!! Also, its easier to configure.

Getting the splash image isn't as simple as adding this to the menu.
I would think that you can put this in with either grub or lilo.Code:color white/blue black/light-gray default 0 timeout 8 gfxmenu (hd0,3)/boot/message
