Login problem
Hi there,
im new to slack but so far so good..Managed to setup slack,netwroking,inet + + +.Today i changed my root password from 7 to 8 caracter...When i changed password of root account it told me something i cannot remember..i just pressed ok..then i logged out and now i cant login again..i know password is correct..but it wont let me login as root..anyone plz i need help with this..im running slackware 10.1

yes old password also tried..the other account does not work either

Try to reset the root password using the procedures detailed in this thread.

Just boot the
boot/root disk, mount your root filesystem on /mnt, and blank out the
password field for root in /mnt/etc/passwd, as so:
root::0:0:root:/:/bin/sh
Now root has no password; when you reboot from the hard drive you should
be able to login as root and reset the password using
passwd.
And there are dozens of hits re: this subject on Google if you need more info.

still no go
hi there,thx for the help so far.When i saw lilo i typed in linux single and it started to load..like normal..when it asked for user i typed root but still same problem with the password.At boot it says im entering level 1..
Now boot has (none) login..if boot normal it says only login..So all in all i still cant login..and cant run any commands either..any other solution?
