I recently upgraded to kernel 2.6.10 from 2.4.29 (due to a filemap.c kernel bug when using high memory) and I am using the fully patched 6629 nVidia drivers. The problem is that in two different games so far (both online), all actions freeze every 15 seconds exactly. I have searched the process list and found nothing that overtly would seem to cause this. I turned off atd (since it had a 15 second delay factor in the event to at jobs were scheduled simulateneously) to no avail. I have tried the unpatched release from slack, the as7 and the ck7 patchsets and all exhibit this same behavior.

I am at a loss as to what is causing this ... some type of polling or something is going. Has anyone experienced this or have any idea as to what to look at next?

I have tried to go back to 2.4.29 but cannot get the sound to work (alsa) with a high-mem configured kernel.
