    Media icons on Dropline desktop

    I just re-compiled the 2.6.10 kernel for my 10.1 box and now I have media icons all over my Dropline Dessktop. Since there is a "Computer" folder on the desktop that also contains these same icons, the ones on the desktop seem a little redundant.

    I know how to get rid of these in KDE, but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to make them go away in Gnome. I found very little Googleing about this. Can someone tell me? Thank you.
