Im stuck in 640x480 and cant get out of that resolution even if i try the settings on the desktop,there is only that option ,Can i change resolution on boot....

    try running
    Code:
    xorgconfig

    either the above or edit your xorg.conf

    so to do that you open your /etc/X11/xorg.conf

    scroll down to the screen section and add your new resoulution next to the one saying 600*800 under the correct colour depth
