Sorry I knew I didnt give enough info.
I dont know exactly what DHCP is, but I do connect with a modem I got from Verizon DSL

it sounds like in that case you need to run
. A quick search looks like a program called PPPoE willl be necessary, but slackware *should have* installed it.Code:pppsetup

Actually I use DSL, it looks like that's for dialup. If that's true, I could have worded that better.
I ran pppsetup and I'm pretty sure it's not it.

exactly how does it connect? Is there a router? Are you connect via network cable?

dhcpcd saved me
