No sound in several apps

Hi all,

Im using slackware 10.2. The KDE sounds are working (but seem to get louder and quieter by themselves also sometimes they play twice slightly overlapping each other) and xmms sound is working, i had to change to the aRTS output plugin to get it working. Sound on xine doesnt work at all for video files and i cant find any place to change output plugin.

Right now in the control center the audio device is the Threaded Open Sound System but i have tried them all and playing around with the alsamixer, muting channels etc (with the 3d channel on xmms wouldnt work). Been trying since last night to fix sound

Was fixed by adding snd_intel8x0m to /etc/hotplug/blacklist and rebooting.
