minimum installation, which package need?
hi, i need you help, i just new in linux and start to learn slackware.
I am using the slackware 10.1 CDs, and want to install a minimum system. this minimum system could support ppp, iptables, dhcp and dns. which package i should select during installation?

I learned the hard way that you'll need AT LEAST "a", "ap" and "l" packages to get things moving. You can then delete what you don't want using "pkgtool", but those 3 have some very important items. Then, since all you want is networking, install what you want from the "n" packages. That's pretty much what I did, but I also got X ("x" and "xap" some packages). After it was all said and done, I have only 500MB of disk space used and only get up to 150MB of RAM usage.

minmum
the packages for a minimum install are in fact
some of the a, ap, l, and n (networking)
i have a whitepaper on this on my website
with the tagfile configuration for this type of instalation
