    Changing Modem Volume


    I'd like to know how either
    1.) How to change the modem volume in Slackware through a terminal program, if possible, or
    2.) Where I could download something like KPPP to install on Slackware.
    It's not that important, but I don't like hearing that god-awful screeching noise when my 56k modem dials in.

    KPPP comes with Slackware in KDE

    K > Internet > Internet Dial-up Toll (KPPP)

    Sometimes me and my modem have competitions to see who can make the best modem noises. I usually lose

    Oh, if I remember right you need either M0 or L0 (or maybe both) in your init string.
